Online Chat Safety: Before, During and After a Call
A practical checklist for browser permissions, personal information, unwanted contact and reporting.
We operate Priviomatch. This is a product-published educational guide, not an independent ranking or a certification of any service. Features, prices and availability can change.

Before a call: reduce accidental disclosure
Remove addresses, work badges, family photos and documents from the camera view. Check screen reflections and notification previews. Choose a display name that does not automatically link to your other public profiles. Use an updated browser and review the site address before granting permissions. Our service is for adults.
Camera or microphone not working?
Check the browser’s site permission controls and the operating system’s camera and microphone settings. Close another application that may be using the device, then check which input is selected. Do not disable browser security protections or install a stranger’s suggested extension to make a call work. The technical references below explain browser media permissions.
During a call: protect your boundaries
Start with low-stakes topics. Do not share passwords, one-time codes, banking information, identification documents or your home address. Leave if someone pressures you to reveal more, move to an unfamiliar site or send money. A conversation is optional even after it has begun; politeness does not require staying.
Assume another participant can capture content
A promise about the platform’s own recording is not protection against someone independently capturing a screen or audio. Avoid sharing intimate or identifying material with a stranger. If material is shared without consent or used to threaten you, consult the image-based-abuse information below and the appropriate local reporting options.
After a problem
Leave the interaction and use the available report or block controls. Record the relevant account identifier, approximate time and a concise description where safe and appropriate; avoid redistributing harmful material. For account or purchase questions use the help center. Do not assume reporting guarantees removal, an instant review or a particular outcome.
Safety and privacy are ongoing choices
Review old camera permissions and revoke access you no longer want. Read the current privacy policy before using a new feature. A nickname, paid plan or encrypted connection is not a complete safety assessment. Revisit your setup when your device, browser or circumstances change.
